Law 5053/2023 of the Ministry of Labour, effective as of 26 September 2023, transposes Directive 2019/1152/EU “On permanent and predictable working conditions”, which originally set a deadline of 1 August 2022 for its transposition, into Greek law.
The updates it introduces to Greece's labour law encompass significant changes in several key areas, including working hours, rest periods, strike regulations, employment contract types, and mandatory training for employees. These reforms aim to enhance working conditions, align with European standards, and promote fair and flexible employment practices.
