Our Real Estate and Dispute Resolution teams have achieved a landmark victory in a challenging case concerning property ownership wrongly attributed to the Greek State.
The dispute emerged when our client, who had lawfully registered their property with the Cadastral Office of Markopoulo, discovered that it had been mistakenly registered under the Greek State at the Cadastral Office of Spata.
Acting on behalf of our client, we initiated litigation to assert their absolute ownership rights, basing our arguments on:
- Historical treaties like the London Protocol of 1830 & the Treaty of Constantinople 183
- Monastery ownership rights from the Ottoman era
- Archival evidence spanning 200 years retrieved from the General State Archives
A court-appointed expert affirmed the strength of our client’s case, leading to a decisive ruling from the Athens Multi-Member Court of First Instance. The court ordered the Spata Cadastral Office to correct its records, officially recognizing our client as the rightful owner.
This victory underscores our ability to navigate complex legal frameworks and deliver results in high-stakes real estate disputes.
