This is the second consecutive time Ballas Pelecanos Law sponsored the annual Greek Offshore Wind Farm Conference. Extremely well attended by over 170 attendees representing over 70 companies from all over Europe and the main Greek players. Congratulations to the organizers: BLUESIGN | Lead the way, INTEC S.A. and AKROCEAN.
It is so humbling to see the amount of risk, effort and foresight that goes into developing new sectors. Professionals from all disciplines cooperating to solve problems, planning ahead, innovating and achieving a common objective: hashtag#clean, hashtag#sustainable and hashtag#affordable hashtag#energy. Engineers, environmental scientists, project managers, software and AI programmers, financiers, communication specialists and, amongst so many other specialists, lawyers, need to work together and coordinate, lay the groundwork, exercise foresight, anticipate and implement.
This year’s conference themes included a discussion on sustainability and non-price factors that have been and will continue to be included in procurement processes and how to align with legal requirements to protect the environment and cultural heritage. Indeed, the objective must be a consensual green transition, a sustainability goal itself that cannot be negated if sustainability and local communities are ignored in the process. ESG is a core value of Ballas Pelecanos Law.
Ballas Pelecanos Law is very well positioned in this new market. We have extensive wind farm development and construction experience (including many ICC wind farm and tech arbitrations). In parallel, we have a unique, one could say, for Greek standards, Offshore Exploration & Exploitation expertise having been involved in the Greek Offshore Oil & Gas programs since the 1990s. We can offer comprehensive public procurement, transactional, government relations, corporate, employment and technology transfer solutions.
Once again, congratulations to everyone on an excellent conference!
