Nikolaos is an Associate at Ballas Pelecanos Law and a member of our firm’s Data Privacy, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Intellectual Property, Consumer Rights & Product Liability, Public & Defence Procurements and Dipute Resolution practice groups.

He completed his undergraduate law studies at the Democritus University of Thrace (LL.B.) and subsequently earned an Advanced Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from Leiden Universiteit, Netherlands, in Law and Digital Technologies.

Nikolaos specialises in offering legal counsel to leading international and domestic clients. His expertise covers extensive areas at the intersection between law and technology, including data protection, new technologies, AI, telecommunications, and intellectual property in the digital environment. His work at our firm focuses on providing customised solutions to clients across a range of business sectors, including the media and technology and automotive industries.

His services mainly encompass supporting compliance with privacy and data protection regulations, providing DPO services and legal assistance to DPOs, advising on legal issues of intellectual property in the digital environment, providing guidance on blockchain, smart contracts, NFTs, and cryptocurrencies, drafting and negotiating contracts, providing advice on complex telecommunication projects, and representing clients and offering support before regulatory entities such as the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA).

An active member of Lexing-Advanced Technology Law Network, he has authored and co-authored a number of articles on technology, telecommunications, media, data privacy and AI law, while he is also a regular speaker at various related conferences. Further to the above, in January 2023 he was selected to join the European Data Protection Board's Support Pool of Experts for the fields of "Technical expertise in new technologies and information security" and "Legal expertise in new technologies".
